IRM helps refugee families who have lost everything start over.

There are approximately 20,000,000 refugees right now worldwide. Refugees of war/conflict/genocide and in some parts of the world women are granted US refugee status just for being women because they are in danger of being persecuted for their gender.
The US allows in 100,000 per year who have been excrutiatingly vetted for the better part of 20 years. Most come directly from refugee camps where they’ve lived without power, water, appliances etc and most have lost everything. Some have lost everyone. These are people who have lost their entire lives, homes, nations, IRM helps them begin to build back the lives they’ve lost, to start over, to feel human again.
IRM helps with everything from an apartment, food, dishes, furniture, clothes, jobs, bus routes, english lessons, tutoring and friendship.
IRM can always use more volunteers and only requires a two hour per week commitment.
